Paros

The almost 200sqm Island of Paros is located in the center of the Cyclades in the southern Aegean.

For almost 30 years, my entire family and I have been spending a few weeks a year in this beautiful place. The island is very touristy, esp. Mid-July to the end of August, but it has retained its uniqueness, a certain simplicity and its spirit.

There are a few restaurants, businesses or spots which mean something particular to me. I would like to present these to you.

Of course, input and tips are always welcome here too!

Enjoy reading!

Atelier Noé Ceramics

Since 2000, Brigitte and Piere-Alain have been making beautiful crockery and decorative objects in their small ceramics studio in the south of the cycladic Island of Paros. They carefully sculpt, paint and glaze each piece by hand. They only use lead-free colors and glazes.

You reach the studio and store in about 20 minutes drive from Parikia, direction south, island between Glyfa and Aspro Chorio. A bit off the main road but very well signposted. A visit is definitely worth it!

SeeSoo Paros -
airy lighty luxury

The beautiful boho-style hotel is run by Claudia and Christian.

With 11 organically styled rooms, all with a sea view, the SeeSoo will definitely become a HAPPY PLACE. The perfect location on the hotel's private beach invites you to surf, kite or simply enjoy  a spectacular the sunset.

Only local products are served for breakfast and environmental awareness is paramount here, with respect for the land and people.

Magic sunrise

The St. Antonios Monastery is opposite Parikia, in the east of the Island and offers for me the most spectacular sunrise ever.

This calm that radiates from this place is magical.

Only for early birds!

Alexandros Cafe/Bar

This wonderful cafe-bar was created from the shell of an old, working windmill that has watched over the entrance to Parikia Bay for 200 years.

Today the windmill is a unique elegant cafe-bar. The terrace offers a fantastic panoramic view over Parikia, down to the harbor and out to sea.

The perfect place to enjoy one of the most spectacular sunsets on the island with a cool drink.

Mario by the Sea

A probably not unknown person on Paros is Mario Tsachpinis.

With the opening of "Mario by the Sea"in Livadia, he has once again created a stunning place. The ambiance in this very modern, phenomenal restaurant is unique. Excellent food and wines make an evening at sunset unforgettable!

Sigi Ikthios

One of my absolute favs is Ioannis Zoumis' well-known restaurant, Sigi Ikthios, at the Limanaki of Naousa.

An absolute must for fish lovers, grilled, beautifully prepared with vegetables, a highlight. And definitely to mention; probably the world's best "Mille Feuille". A dessert not to be missed.

A beautiful place, where they give you a warm welcome and you just have to feel good.

Agia Irini Beach

Agia Irini is a beautiful small beach a few km south of Parikia. Under the palm trees is a truly authentic taverna serving a huge variety of Greek food. The whole place seems quite disorganized but that's what makes this spot so special.

If you're looking for a simple beach with clear blue water, try to find it!

Faragas Beach

A "small but fine" sandy beach, crystal clear water and very comfortable loungers. Approximately 20 minutes drive south from Parikia. Since the beach is gently sloping, Faragas is also well suited for families.

The restaurant offers sensational Mediterranean cuisine, rather expensive. And with a sundowner at the bar, your beach day will be unforgettable!

Reservations needed July and August...
